Options for Support and Training

VCC faculty and staff can find self-paced online training, search for answers, ask for help, or schedule in-person training.

Some support needs can be answered by email or phone. Others need in-person consultation.

Our eLearning Support team provides a variety of ways for you to find answers quickly, get one-to-one Moodle support, or arrange for group training.


Introduction to Moodle

For VCC Faculty and Staff:
Learn the essentials of using a Moodle-based course.

This 2 hour self-directed online course gives you a sample of the types of activities you may find in an online course at VCC. (Only available to registered VCC students, faculty, staff or administrators.)

Online Learner Success Express (OLSE)

For Everyone at VCC:
Learn in detail how to navigate and use a Moodle online course.

This 3 - 5 hour self-directed online course gives you a sample of the types of activities you may find in an online course at VCC. (Only available to registered VCC students, faculty, staff or administrators.)

Online Teacher Success (OTS)

For VCC Faculty and Staff:
Learn how to create and manage a Moodle online course.

In this 7 hour self-directed online course, VCC Faculty and Staff can learn about designing and administering an online course, creating content, and exploring and experimenting with the features of VCC's Moodle Learning Management System. (Only available to VCC faculty, staff and administrators.)

The Learn Moodle MOOC

For VCC Faculty and Staff:

This free online course from Moodle.org is designed for anyone who wants to use the Moodle learning platform for teaching, this activity-based free online course helps teachers who are new to Moodle, or who want to learn about the latest version.
(Spend four weeks, at about 3 to 4 hours a week. You'll earn badges, and maybe even win a prize from VCC!)


Remote Training and Assistance

When you can't meet in person or just need to contact a human being for a quick consult to solve an issue, you can contact the eLearning Support team in a number of ways:

Get in-person training from eLearning Support

Maybe you've completed our self-paced Moodle training options, but still want face-to-face, in-person support.
No problem. With some advance notice, one-to-one help, or small or large group workshops are all possible.

How to a book training session with eLearning Support

eLearning Support is based in the VCC Downtown campus, but we also have an office at VCC's Broadway campus which we visit weekly. With some notice, we can meet you at your Downtown or Broadway location for one-to-one Moodle support.
