Recommended Tool: Microsoft Copilot
Based on UBC’s Privacy Impact Assessment, CTLR recommends using Microsoft Copilot with VCC institutional login for data security and privacy. This tool is currently free, and your input is not saved for data training. As with any use of GenAI tools, only enter low-risk data.
Copilot is also the recommended tool for GenAI student learning activities or assessments (but you must have an option for them to choose not to use it). You can use Copilot from any web browser or use the Copilot sidebar in the Edge browser which offers the additional “Compose” feature. See video below. For any generated output that you will share, always check for accuracy and to reduce bias/harm.
