Spring 2025: Orientation to Teaching

The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Research (CTLR) is inviting you to join us for the Spring VCC Orientation to Teaching day on Monday, April 14th, from 9:30am-2:30pm.

This interactive session is a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and explore foundational instructional skills, key VCC education policies, educational technology at VCC, and teaching supports to set yourself up for success. The event is in-person at the Broadway campus, Building B room 2206.

During the session, you will engage with topics such as:

• Inclusive teaching/creating positive classroom environments
• Lesson planning
• Student engagement
• Classroom management
• Assessment
• Educational policies such as grading policy, student code of conduct, academic integrity, accommodation for students with disabilities
• Student and Instructor supports 
• Basics of Moodle (Learning Management System)
• Generative AI in teaching and learning
