The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Research (CTLR) is inviting you to join us for the Winter VCC Orientation to Teaching day on Wednesday December 10, 2025, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
This interactive session is a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and share foundational instructional skills, key VCC education policies, educational technology at VCC, and teaching supports to set yourself up for success.
The session is online in a Teams meeting. You will get to experience collaborative features and tools that can be used to engage students and support active learning.
There will be two coffee breaks and a one-hour lunch break.
During the session, you will engage with topics such as:
- Inclusive teaching/creating positive classroom environments
- Lesson planning
- Student engagement
- Classroom management
- Assessment
- Educational policies such as grading policy, student code of conduct, academic integrity, accommodation for students with disabilities
- Student and Instructor supports
- Basics of Moodle (Learning Management System)
- Generative AI in Teaching and Learning at VCC
