The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Research supports new faculty transitioning into teaching, and experienced faculty continuing professional development, with best practices in design and delivery of instruction.

Join us for a in-person, informal morning workshop on Aug 30th, 2022. Meet other new faculty and members of the CTLR team over coffee, and leave with some tools to help you successfully get your learners to their goals. If you can’t join in-person there will also be a Zoom option. Asynchronous video resources will also be available on certain topics.

By the end of this session participants will be able to:

• Use constructive alignment (backwards planning) to ensure assessment and teaching/learning activities help students meet learning outcomes

• Describe a process to prepare for teaching, including course and lesson planning models

• Identify technologies to actively engage students

• Explain why Universal Design for Learning benefits all students

• List the educational support services available to students and faculty

• Identify the educational governance process and college policies and procedures that direct teaching and learning at VCC
